Abstract:
Pot experiments were conducted to study the effects of controlled-release compound fertilizer on antioxidant system of flue-cured tobacco leaves. Comparing with no fertilizer application, results indicated that ordinary compound fertilizer and controlled- release compound fertilizer greatly improved the contents of chlorophyll, carotenoids (50~65 days after transplant) and asorbic acid (AsA), as well as superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity (35~65 days after transplant). This significantly reduced the contents of carotenoids (80 days after transplant) and malondialdehyde (MDA), as well as the production rate of superoxide ( O
2- ) anion free radicals. Meanwhile, peroxidase (POD) activity and glutathione (GSH) content improved to some extent. Controlled-release compound fertilizer had greater influence on the physiological properties of flue-cured tobacco leaves than ordinary compound fertilizer.
