Abstract: The effects of P application on root-top characteristics and yield of pot-cultivated wheat under water．1imited condition are studied．The results show that P application stimulates significantly the development of fringe，root and plant height of wheat，however，has less influence on the contents of water and chlorophyll in leaves．P applicarlon increases obviously the top dry weight and yield，especially the root dry weight of‘CV．Wenmai 6’，and fringe number of‘CV．Wenmai6’and ‘CV．Jimai 36’at water-1imited condition．
