Discussion and clarification of the characteristics,definition and research objectives of sustainable agriculture

Concept and characters of sustainable agriculture are discussed in the paper.The research objectives of sustainable agriculture are defined as studying and developing new agricultural techologies and management strageties of environmental safety and health for agricultural production.Several improtant research fields concerned with sustainable agricultural in China are put forward.
